     People get a chuckle from our Maine weather sticks, but they really work.  Ours is a 12" - 16" wooden rod ready for mounting and packaged with directions.  The folks who make them won't say what type of wood they use, it is considered a production secret, but the idea has been around a long time.  Users report that as well as being predictors of inclement weather, they are great conversation starters.

     To start us off, you will find colorful pillows, table runners and a hanging tapestry in designs that will perk up any house after a long winter.

     These are made by Carol Funk of Scarborough, Maine under her business name of “Crafts by Carol“. She is one of our most popular artisans in the Saco store, known not only for the beautiful fabrics she uses but also for the high quality of her needlework.

     The items we are showing are some of the most popular at this time of year and we hope they can add a little sunshine and color to your home. In addition to the pillows, table runners and hanging we are starting with, Carol has a large selection of items in the store in many more designs and colors. We will bring some of them to the web site in future months. If you are in the Saco area, be sure to stop in to see them or if you would like a particular theme or color and are too far from the store, send us an email and we will see if she has something you might like.
